How can I give my model airplane an initial velocity?

I want to be able to give my small balsa wood model airplane an initial velocity. It doesn’t have to be big, just constant. How can I do this? I’ve tried using a fan but that did not work. I can’t use my arm because that isn’t constant. What should I do? Thanks!
